pete rose sent a request to the league to be reinstated after 25 years of purgatory. april 2nd I'm bowling with jerry white of expos fame or shame in this case. gary carter apparently told him to swing on the first pitch. he said 'I never should have listened to Carter'.

I may be going to a Mets game in April. We should start a new thread for this year's MLB action.

Also the 2 year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. I'm still 42 until may 17th. Should get my pic with Wil Wheaton at Ottawa Comiccon who is also 42 and a big Dodgers fan.

Bowled an 82 with Al Oliver. The year he won the batting title with the expos. Perfect in a way.

96,000+ again for both jays games in Montreal. Safe to say there is interest.

Watched several games on TV so far this week and must say that the visible strike zone overlaid on the screen hasn't bothered me as much as I thought it would. They've managed to almost watermark it into the broadcast.

When you go to a game you can see a timer like in football showing how long a pitcher has to warm up. All part of trying to speed up the game.

I remember the old Little League days when we were allowed 7 warm up pitches each inning and then an 8th with the throw down to 2nd base. We had one season when our catcher couldn't reliably make that throw down to 2nd base without the ball going into the outfield so we'd have him walk it back to the pitcher instead.

Jays crap the bed in front of a sellout crowd for their home opener. Rays score both their runs on walks.

RIP to a legend of Canadian Baseball today. Mister Jim Fanning.

Interestingly he is born in Chicago on a September 14 same as Walter Koenig of Star Trek whom I'm meeting at Ottawa Comiccon in 2 weeks. Might as well get an expos pin in my pic with him.

Baltimore is playing tomorrow in an empty stadium and then they will lose the next homestand with the games being played in Miami.

actually it'll be in tampa. the joke of course is that there will be very little difference with an empty stadium.

You're right. Tampa. O's seem to be responding with the extra rest. 6 runs in the first.

I still want to know who those two people were that were sitting in the 5th row behind the plate. Must've been team executives or something.
