About to get underway with a draft that apparently has fewer stellar players at the top end, but which is a deep one through the first 3 rounds.

By all reports, the Stampeders are looking for o-line help and receivers through at least the first 2 rounds.

    Stay tuned...

Saskatchewan is now on the clock...

And they select No. 1 overall Josiah St. John (OT) from Oklahoma.

    Looking to replace Ben Heenan.

Montreal will select 2nd, and is on the clock.

Their pick: from Laval, Phillippe Gagnon, at offensive guard.

The bench press champion at the 2016 CFL Combine...

Next up in the 3rd slot, it's B.C.

The Lions select: (a trade!) their 3rd and their 30th to Hamilton who then select Brandon Revenberg at OL...

Next, at 4th overall, it's the Argos.

Toronto selects: Brian Jones at receiver from Acadia.

    Apparently a Jason Clermont clone...

BC is now on the clock with the pick they just obtained from Hamilton.

B.C. selects: Charles Vaillancourt from Laval.

A potential starter, and a real big body who may slot in at centre for the Lions.

Singleton is the pick. 6-foot-2, 233-pound LB out of Montana State who already has NFL experience. Projected as a #CFL MLB. #CFLDraft

    As per Scott Mitchell.

Now on the clock is Huffer and the Stampeders.

Calgary's pick is: Alex Singleton at LB from Montana State.

A California native but who qualifies as a "non-import" (okay, "National"), and who was made an offer (without a bonus) by New England today.

    Next up, the (hated) Eskimos.

Edmonton's selection: Tevaun Smith at WR from Iowa.

An all-round terrific receiving prospect, and the most exciting player in the draft according to Duane Forde.

    Drats! :arghh:

Next, the second round gets underway, with Winnipeg (via trade) on the clock.

The Bombers pick: Trent Corney, a DE from Virginia.

A projected back-up for Jamal Westerman.

Winnipeg with their own pick from the 2nd round.

With the 10th pick: Michael Couture at OL from Simon Fraser.

A solid depth selection for the Bombers who may start within a year or two.

And that ends the TSN broadcast coverage of the draft.

For those interested, the balance of the second round, and all subsequent rounds of the 2016 CFL draft are available at

    http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/draft

Still lots of great players available, and coming soon to a CFL playing field near you! ;)
