    Well, it's finally here.

The day all CFL fans pine for all season.

Today will mark the 105th edition (or, to place it into context for our American brethren, "Grey Cup CV"):D of Canada's national football championship, and Stampeders' fans are marking the 16th time our club has contested in the title game.

As Stampeders' fans, I hope we all enjoy the experience and appreciate the event.

I know as I get older, I certainly do.

You just never know when your club might get back there, much less win it.

Calgary's first Grey Cup was won a few years before I was born, but I've been around for the other 6 they've won to date.

After winning their first one, and then losing another the following year, the Stampeders didn't make it back to the Grey Cup for 19 more years (a close loss to Ottawa), and following another appearance 2 years later (another loss, this time to the Alouettes), they didn't win the game until the season after that.

That was the first Grey Cup championship the Stampeders had ever won during my lifetime.

    I was 19 years old.

They didn't even get there again for another 20 years after that (a loss), which was at last followed by a Doug Flutie led victory the following year.

    By then I was 40.

Until 2017, through the 1990's and into the 2000's, we as Stampeders' fans have been very fortunate to have seen our club play in the championship game 10 times and to have witnessed 5 Grey Cup wins over that 26 season span.

But it hasn't always been that way.

    I'm a living testament to that. ;)

I think many times we as modern era Stampeders' fans have sometimes become spoiled by this team's success, and as a result, have lost sight of how things could have been, and in fact, how things were.

    Sometimes for decades.

I hope every one of us will live in the moment today, and will savour the experience, whatever the result of today's championship contest.

Because none of us knows for certain when it might come our way again.

A victory at the end of the day is neither a guarantee, nor a promise that it will be followed by more of them to come.

    Instead, live the experience.

A win, if you get it, is just the bonus at the end of the day.... ;)

As a fan this is a huge day; lose and this franchise cements the legacy of great regular seasons with nothing to show when it matters.
Win and they look like a dynasty with appearances in 3 of the last 4 Grey cups with 2 wins; I like the latter!!!

Should be about -1C (30F) at kickoff, with a little snow and SW winds at 20 kph which will produce a windchill of -8 to -9C by the end of the game.

Calgary has played in worse conditions, and still prevailed.

    I think it'll be manageable...;)

Looking for a big game from Finch and Davaris Daniels on offence, and from Singleton and Tommie Campbell on defence!

    Go get 'em, boys! ;)

    Go Stamps Go!

A great football champeechip in the snow should be fun.
Now is the time to seal the deal. Time to scramble and ramble.
    Go stampeders.

This is why the season needs to be moved up a month. Why play the best game of the year in the worst conditions?

Again another opportunity for this team to put to rest the idea that they can’t win in adverse conditions.
This game has Messam written all over it.
    Go stamps go!!!!!!!

Argos will win. ...... ##### weather.
How about playing the game in the frickin afternoon.
    My prediction will be:
    Argos 32 - Calgary 15.
The Stamps never win when the weather is a factor.
This will depressing I just can feel it.
