Another receiver down, this time it's Tim Hawthorne out with a broken finger on his right hand.

Maybe Ralph the Dog will need to take the field.

In the season of "Whatever it Takes", I guess injury news for the Calgary Stampeders just has to be received with a weary shrug and a determined "What else is new?" in reply.

The scouting and player replacement recruitment this team has done under John Murphy is second to none in the CFL. ;)

As Nik Lewis has said in his assessment of how the Stampeders will fare without him, "It's plug and play time!"

Like the Roman legionnaires of the ancient world, when the man in front goes down, the next man in the cohort steps into the battle line to seamlessly take his place, and trade blows with the enemy.

And if he goes down, he knows someone else in turn will have his back.

    That's how warriors win.

Because they're well prepared, disciplined, and very skilled at what they do.

And they believe in one another.
