... fighting tickets, such as parking, traffic, transit, etc?
That's a pretty big range of ticket types - anything more specific?
Sometimes if the ticket was borderline all it takes is showing up on the court date.
If it's traffic related, hire one of those ticket fighting agencies and let them deal with it.
Speak to a magistrate on or before your court date. Chances are your fine & the type of ticket you have now will be reduced. That's what I did. I slid thru a stop sign on black ice 10 years ago. A cop was sitting there at the intersection with his lights off & charged me with going thru a stop sign. Funny how he was just sitting there, isn't it? Didn't care the road was slippery. He was only interested in writing tickets & not safety as he never called the City of Calgary to bring out a sanding truck. Anyway, I went to a magistrate & explained what happened. He agreed that the charge of going thru a stop sign was too harsh. Magistrate reduced the ticket to driving with undue care & attention. That meant my fine was reduced by 2/3, carried no charge under the HTA & also there were no demerits.
Thanks guys. It was a ctrain ticket. I plan to go there on the court date and explain the circumstances of the situation; hopefully they'll reduce or eliminate the penalty.
this wasn't you right?
