    Calgary Stampeders defensive end Ben D’Aguilar gets ACL put in his knee
    It’s been an off-season of additions for Ben D’Aguilar.

    While nothing will top welcoming his first child, baby boy Koa, into his life last month, the other significant addition this off-season will have a major impact on the third-year Calgary Stampeders defensive end’s football career.

    The 25-year-old Hamilton product now as an ACL in his left knee.

    Not a new ACL but an ACL. Period.

    When D’Aguilar, who was in the midst of a solid sophomore campaign with 13 special-teams tackles at the time, was shoved from behind on Sept. 13 against the Toronto Argonauts and was later sent for an MRI on his ailing knee, the results were not exactly what he was expecting.

    “I’ve actually been without an ACL in my left knee for about six years, and we didn’t find out until the MRI when this injury happened,” D’Aguilar explained. “So we got one of those installed.

    “I guess now we’ll see how good I am with two knees instead of playing with one or one-and-a-half.
