Interesting QB situation developing there as they have signed Vince Young to a 1 year deal.
One thing about the NFL they have so much money they can do things like this. Sign a retreaded Vince Young & give Ryan Fitzpatrick a new, long term deal based on the first 5 games of last season. Pretty irresponsible the way the Bills throw around money but whatever...
Are you always negative to moves meant to create competition in a training camp setting? VY10 will be great going up against Fitzpatrick for 8 weeks of camp.
"VY 10" is washed up. He never was a great qb to begin with. So, if that's competition then welcome to last place Buffalo. Start planning the first pick in the draft next year. My question is, why didn't the Bills draft a qb when they had the chance? Is Fitzpatrick the long term answer, I don't think so & neither is Young.
Fitzpatrick is a 7 year vet and VY10 won a National Championship with Texas along with taking the Titans to the playoffs. Perhaps your ideal of a "great qb" is too narrow. Wins are wins.
What is your idea of a great qb? Vince Young?? You sayMark Sanchez is a bum based on 1 bad year yet you think Fitzpatrick is a great qb based on the fact for the most part he has been a backup qb & that he played well in just the first 5 games of the 2011 season. After that, Fitzpatrick was less than ordinary.
No a great QB is Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Joe Montana. But since the Bills can't sign any of them creating a QB competition between Fitzpatrick and VY10 will get them rolling in the right direction. Vince Young was AFC Rookie of the Year, 2 time pro bowler, has won more games than Sanchez which you'll say oh he's played more years but on the flip side he's lost fewer games than Sanchez with more starts.
Okay, you had me wondering there... about great qbs. Young has bounced around, didn't play consistently well when he was a starter, lost his job to Kerry Collins of all people & couldn't get along with Jeff Fisher. He had all of his success early in his career. That seems to be all a memory now.
Why? It's Rogers money.

Saying all the right things but will he do the right things? He should be humbled after the Jeff Fisher incident. If he couldn't play for Fisher then you knew he had a swelled head. On Vince Young, I'm from Missouri.
Good clip with Vince - http://watch.tsn.ca/clip704707#clip704707
No football. Mostly hockey clips.
Looks like the OTR segment has been replaced by NHL Draft stuff. Too bad.
