Sunday double header ends with the West showdown.

Calgary enters on a 4 game winning streak while the Riders lost to Montreal after sweeping Labour Day Week. Since August 1st Calgary has been 5-1 while Saskatchewan isn't doing quite so well at 2-4. In the last 4 games the Stampeders have only allowed 1 point in the first quarter.

Jon Cornish is 120 yards away from a 1000 yard season and 100 yards away from somebody losing their job in Saskatchewan thanks to a wide eyed coach making a guarantee that Cornish won't hit triple digits.

Nik Lewis' third catch of the game (giving him credit that it'll happen today) will put him in the Top 10 All Time Pass Catchers in CFL history. Currently at 704 and Rocky DiPietro is at 706.

Calgary takes a 3-0 lead on a 33 yarder from Paredes after a Stampeders fumble recovery on Saskatchewan's first series.

Even the "Command Centre" can't get that one right?

I wonder what convoluted reasoning Higgins will offer up for that one!

Sometimes the CFL is such a "mickey mouse" operation!

Nice half-field march by the Stampeders after the turnover on downs by the 'riders following their punt fake.

    10 yard score for McDaniel.

    10-7 Calgary.

So it should be 4 turnovers but instead is only 2. Where did these Riders come from?

Neither team lighting up the stadium with offence so far.

Both sides will be making adjustments in the locker room over the half-time break.

    Who's will be better?

Mr DressUp and The DairyMan (Durant) starting to take the Stamps D apart.

The Field Mouse, Kevin Glenn starting to vomit up those bad picks (ie. Lobocop) he's famous for.

Nice to see at least two ex-bombers be so instrumental in the outcome.

Didn't like Charleston Hughes interview at half-time where he said his D did nothing in the first half; and now in the second half they're doing less!

Too little, too late for Calgary's comatose offence this afternoon.

They let the game get away from them in the third quarter after entering it tied with half a game to play.

Some of it was on Glenn, but a lot of it was on Calgary's o-line who I thought had a tough game against Saskatchewan's front. I thought Deane at RT had a particularly rough game. Maybe he'll learn something from it.

On defence, tackling was a real issue at times, and mid-range pass coverage beyond the linebackers was certainly questionable.

Not a devastating defeat at all, but a disappointing result with the Stampeders being guilty of lacking in focus almost throughout the game.

    Another wasted opportunity.

    Learn and move on.

We lost the game on the LOS. After dominating the 1st qtr, the DEL became nearly invisible. J'Michael Deane couldn't block Willis. What an effin brutal call in the 1st qtr by Jake Ireland ruling that wasn't a fumble. I hate Jake Ireland. As an official he's as useless as tits on a bull.

I'm no OL coach but I noticed that Deane was always looking inside to the guard at B gap or 3 Technique between himself & Tsoumpas where the DT was instead of outside where DE Willis was lining up a bit wider than normal. Clearly Tsoumpas had responsibility for the DT Deane was looking at as the Riders were rushing 4 on the DL. Willis just clear cut beat Deane off the snap of the football. But how can you block someone when you're not looking at him when the ball is snapped?

It was one of those games where you could see the Stamps simply felt too comfortable going into it and lacked intensity against a team that was all fired up. Need to get back to desperate football.

Riders were more physical along the lines and Stamps seemed to be overwhelmed at times. Couldn't establish the run and relied too much on Glenn to pass the ball. Outside of Hughes the Stamps seemed to play without much emotion. Both the D and O line struggled today. It appears the Stamps sustained more injuries again.
