    Preseason Week B - Game 8
    Calgary at Saskatchewan
    Date: Friday June 22nd
    Time: 7:00pm Mountain
    TV/Radio: no TV / QR77 (Calgary) / CKRM (Saskatchewan)

Some of the distractions of playing the last game of the pre-season schedule are sure to be a factor tonight. Both of these teams will need to trim their rosters down by tomorrow night and so it is a mixed bag of players on the bubble and the starters trying to knock a little rust off.

While it seems that the starting QB jobs have been secured for both clubs there is a battle behind them for the proper pecking order. In Calgary the question is who gets to wear the ball cap and hold the clipboard - Bo Levi Mitchell or Brad Sinopoli as Drew Tate and Kevin Gleen seem locked into the #1 and #2 spots respectively. For Saskatchewan there is a bigger question with Levi Brown, Drew Willy and JT O'Sullivan all still there in camp. Potentially both clubs will carry 4 on the roster, if they do then JT O'Sullivan as the old vet gets the bonus since he can't be placed on the practice roster due to age and years of service.

The Stamps have a hole to fill in the receiving corps as Ken Yon Rambo doesn't seem likely to be ready to go Week 1. Marquis McDaniel has put together a nice camp and a solid pre-season game last week didn't hurt his chances to take over that spot at all. Now Landon Talley has to match or beat that!

In Saskieland they have a major battle running at the MLB spot with 4 non-imports. Shomari Williams and Mike McCullough are in tough for the starting role while draft picks Kevin Regimbald-Gagne and Sam Hurl are going nose to nose for the 3rd spot. Expect to see them rotated through all game long.

No webcast for this one right? Too bad. Bet they would've had 10,000 for it.
What's the attendance expected to be?

    No, nothing for this game.

TSN decided that the stupid NHL entry draft was more important. Because all 300 family members might tune in to watch.

This game should be on TSN2. Maddening that it isn't.

So Cornish was proclaiming big things and here he goes 3 carries for 18 yards already. I'm sure he'll bump that average back to the 4.5 to 5 range with some more action but he sure does seem ready to go. Look out!

It's 7-0 Calgary. A punt single and a pair of FGs.

FGs from 30 yards and 11. 11 means they were stopped at the 4....

Cornish is now 5 carries for 23 yards.

Tate is 5 of 11 passing for 82 yards with 1 INT.

Lewis with 3 catches for 54 yards and apparently he hurdled another DB.

BTW - the Flames just drafted MARK JANKOWSKI, a center out of Stanstead College. Love that the CFL Draft board did an auto refresh with every pick and the NHL official website does not. Every time we think our beloved CFL is behind the times another League shows us up.

So not only is the NHL Draft going on but the Sandusky trial is coming to a close tonight. Jury has come to a verdict and in 20 minutes the world will be buzzing about that.

Sounds like Arjei Franklin is making a case for retaining his spot. 3 catches so far for 41 yards.
