There was some discussion in the media earlier in the week which stated the Stampeders would clinch a playoff berth with a win in Winnipeg and an Eskimos loss today.

    That's incorrect.

They're already in as a result of their victory over the Bombers today and Hamilton's loss last night.

Their 9 wins gives them, at minimum, the 3rd place 'cross-over' in the East.

That being the case, the mantra in Calgary should now be "Go Esks!".

At least for this afternoon. ;)

An Edmonton win would serve to cool off the surging 'riders, and make Calgary's prospects of finishing second in the West a little less arduous. :D

Hope the Mrs didn't bet high stakes today.

An Eskimo win and the BB will be officially out.

No, we never even wagered, and she went shopping...:D

And now, with the Eskimos' victory over the 'riders in the game just finished, the math for Calgary becomes even simpler.

Should Montreal win in Saskatchewan next Saturday afternoon, and the Stampeders beat the Ti-cats at home in McMahon later that evening, Calgary clinches second.

Not only that, Al, but with a win, Calgary still has a shot at 1st...at least until BC wins its next game, that is! :p

Edit: ooopps! Never mind...I see the Lions host the Eskimos the night before in Vancouver...that oughta take 1st out of the equation! ;)

If there's a paper bag for the groceries she might want to wear it :D

My bad. Winnipeg is still mathematically alive down to one magic number.

I don't see Montreal winning in Sask so you'll have to take care of your own business.

    We'll see.

The Stampeders won't, of course, refuse any help they can get, but they don't need it.

    They control their own destiny.

    So it's simple.

Win the games they need to win, and it doesn't matter who else wins.

Don't win those games and they don't deserve second place. ;)

We'd love to oblige but we're pretty banged up. Might be a close game.
