Stampeders have been dominant in this one, building a 19-0 lead before letting Trawna creep back into it with a mid-second quarter FG after Jerome Messam put in on the carpet deep in Calgary's end.

19-6 now with the Argos tryin' to make a game of it.

Time for a clock chewin' march with Messam luggin' the ball.

    Whaddiya say, Jerome?

    Time for some redemption?

    Nope.

Not much clock chewin' goin' on there...;)

    Only 3 plays.

1 carry for Messam for a half dozen yards.

Then a 61 yarder for 6 by DV Daniels.

    25-6 for the Stamps.

The clock chewin' drive comes one series later with Messam making amends for his earlier fumble with a 24 yard scamper up the middle to the Argos' 4.

Messam for another 3 to the Toronto 1.

95 yards on the ground in the 1st half for Messam.

Tempers flare at the back of the Argos endzone and a hockey fight breaks out.

Player ejections to Toronto's Smith after a couple of head shots levelled (by Mitchell of the Argos, who's not thrown out!:jawdrop:) at Kamar Jorden and Marquay McDaniel, as well as to McDaniel (I guess for fighting back?).

After an 8 minute delay, first down Calgary at the Toronto 1.

TD run on a QB keeper to Andrew Buckley.

32-6, Calgary as we near the half.

Another long Calgary drive with a final play FG by Paredes.

    35-6 Stampeders at halftime.

Nearly 300 yards passing in one half by Mitchell, and an even 100 yards on the ground by Messam in 30 minutes played.

First series of the second half, Calgary's defence swarms the Argos, then Kamar Jorden blocks the Toronto punt.

Calgary ball at the Argos' 25.

Bad snap at centre, ball recovered by Messam.

    37 yard FG by Paredes.

38-6, Stampeders, early in the 3rd.

CFL might have to introduce a "mercy rule" here...;)

Looks like the league ain't gonna do nuthin' so instead, the Stampeders have decided they are goin' to impose the "mercy rule".

    On themselves.;)

Mitchell is hurried, then fumbles the ball after being hit from behind.

Lemon recovers, then rumbles deep into Calgary territory.

    Argos score.

    38-13 now.

Messam now over 1000 on the season with a 35 yard run after a long kickoff return by Anthony Parker...

It is difficult to believe that the Stampeders and the Argos are in the same league. I just don't understand how the East can be so poor across the division.

Mitchell finally pulled, and Tate gets some reps.

1 for 2 in passing for 5 yards, so 3rd down.

    Calgary punt blocked.

Stampeders really are serious about self-imposition of "mercy rule"...;)

    Argos ball at Calgary 21.

    Willy runs for 1st down.

    Hope reigns eternal in Toronto.

Spencer scores on a 9 yard pass from Willy.

    45-20 Stampeders.

    Tate back in.

Prior to this series, he's only thrown 3 passes all season.

    He needs the work.

I expect we'll see a lot more of him over the final 3 games this season now that the Division is in the bag...;)

    Calgary on the march.

Tate completes 4 more passes on 5 thrown in this series, with Cote the workhorse back both on the ground and through the air.

Paredes for 3 on a 20 yard FG.

48-20 with just under 5 minutes to play.

i'm guessing that aside from the mandatory resting to heal the booboos of most starters we'll see this team continue to try and play at a high level knowing they'll have 3 weeks of rest before the final. Might as well give tate some playing time spread out through the last 3 games. always good to have a ready backup.

the way it's going we could have an all-alberta grey cup.

The experts on the post-game show on QR77 seem to believe that the Stampeders will continue to play hard for the modern day season record of 16-1-1 which is within their grasp.

Nevertheless, as I mentioned in this thread, I think Tate will see the bulk of the game play from here to the end of October before Calgary gets the bye to end the regular season.

Edmonton still looks pretty sharp in spite of their coaching staff raid. they may even have a shot at second place.
