    Game Preview

The Calgary Stampeders close out the 2014 regular season on the West Coast with a game against the BC Lions.

The Stamps (14-3) have clinched first place in the West and on Nov. 23 will play in their fourth Western Final under head coach/general manager John Hufnagel. Calgary stumbled in the snow at McMahon last week as the Stamps were upended by Winnipeg 18-13, ending the team's five-game winning streak at home.

The Lions (9-8, third place in the West) were pummeled 37-3 on the road by the Eskimos and need a win this week to ensure they stay in the West playoffs. The two teams have met twice already this season, both at McMahon, and have split the season series to date. The Lions won 25-24 back in Week 6 and Calgary evened the score with a 14-7 win in Week 14.

The Stamps have struggled of late in Vancouver, losing four straight regular-season games dating back to 2011, including 26-7 in the last game of the regular season in 2013. Calgary has the best road record in the CFL at 7-1 and is 7-2 against West teams while the Leos are 4-4 at home and have a losing record within the division at 4-5.

Sorry, but Calgary's D is not worthy or in the calibre to take this team to the Grey Cup. Pretty good against the run, but against the pass they are very weak.
On a positive note, Rogers another weapon. Good 1st half.

Sorry Deuvl, I watched the game at a local pub with some friends. Good crowd at the pub with lots of noise for the game.

Overall a good effort by the Stamps. They didn't blow their lead, and played fairly sharp all game. Not as productive in the redzone tonight, but a steady workmanlike performance. And a decent tune up for Nov. 23rd.

The only injury of note seemed to be Jock Sanders. His left ankle--again.

    Saturday's games will be interesting.

Another excellent regular season by the Stamps. Tonight's overall effort, intensity and focus by the team was worth noting. I like the fact that the team didn't have any major injuries, were more disciplined and showed some emotion.
