Some would say if you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse.

Calgary Stampeders defensive co-ordinator Rick Campbell would say Demonte’ Bolden is getting better.

“We had an idea that he’d be able to play, and the big thing for Demonte’ is he’s continued to get better,” Campbell said. “And that’s a big thing we evaluate players on, whether they’re getting better or not, and he’s definitely gotten better as the weeks have gone by.”

The 6-foot-5, 290-lb. defensive tackle made his presence known during Sunday’s Red-White mock game, shooting a gap and getting to quarterback Kevin Glenn for a sack.

That flash has Campbell excited about the pressure his defensive line will be able to provide this season.

“It means everything,” Campbell said. “If you don’t feel you have D-linemen who can get to the quarterback, then you have to start scheming ways and doing different things to try and get to the quarterback. Any time you can send four D-linemen and get a pass rush, it makes all the difference in the world.
