    Demonte' Bolden doesn't exactly have the build for a marathon.

    A short sprint is more to his liking.

    And that's exactly what the first pre-season test turned out to be for the Calgary Stampders defensive lineman.

    The 6-foot-5, 282-pounder knew he wasn't going to be on the field very long, so pinned his ears back and made the most of his limited snaps.

    "I was trying to make the most of it," Bolden said. "Coach only gave us one quarter, so I had to shoot my guns early."

    Bolden was a disruptive force, busting through the interior of the line a few times to put some heat on B.C. Lions quarterback Travis Lulay.

    But he felt he had a lot of gas left in the tank and looks forward to using more of it Thursday in Regina.

    "God willing," he said when asked if he expects to play more. "I really do (want to play).
