    Quiet and Confident

Star power and storylines are always in stock when it comes to the 2013 version of the Calgary Stampeders.
There's a brewing quarterback controversy that isn't yet controversial.
There's offensive co-ordinator Dave Dickenson's head coaching candidacy, which is sure to crop up the minute the season ends, if not sooner.
There's also Nik Lewis, who's always good for a headline or two throughout the summer.
But ever-so-quietly, kicker Rene Paredes and tailback Jon Cornish are just going about their business, making kicks and churning out yards, giving the coaching staff and whomever happens to be calling the shots under centre that night supreme confidence that when the ball isn't in their hands, it's in good hands.

Stamps meet Riders in West Showdown

The top two teams so far in the 2013 season go head to head on Friday, Aug. 9 as the Calgary Stampeders play host to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Kickoff at McMahon Stadium is at 7 p.m.

Hey, it's a Bye week for the red and white...the media's focus is elsewhere...;)
