Can't Fault The Stamps For Playing Cornish

It was a nightmarish day for the Stampeders on Saturday as they not only lost the game to the Bombers but lost Jon Cornish to another head injury. Many have criticized the Stamps for playing Cornish in a "meaningless game" but according to Stampeder insider Scott Mitchell, the team made the right choice playing him.

Jon Cornish will miss this week's game after head injury; will he be back for the West Final?

Despite its utter irrelevance to the playoff picture, the Calgary Stampeders' 18-13 loss to Winnipeg in the snow Saturday may wind up having a significant impact on the postseason. That's because star Calgary RB Jon Cornish left that game after hitting his head on the ground, awakening fears of a return of the concussion he sustained in the Stamps' first regular-season game in June on a hit from Montreal's Kyries Hebert.

Calgary Stampeders LB tries to rediscover passion for game
Playing professional football for a living always seems glorious.
You’re running around like a kid, soaking up different life experiences, and, if you’re lucky enough, getting some time in the limelight.
But it’s a tough way to make a living, sometimes, especially in the CFL.
On a day when Calgary Stampeders backup linebacker Yannick Carter was simply doing some fall cleaning, the 30-year-old realized he had lost his passion for football.

Cornish, Price will sit out Stamps’ regular-season finale
The 18-13 loss against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on a wintry Saturday afternoon took its toll physically on the Calgary Stampeders, with a couple of key individuals out for the regular season finale in Vancouver.
The Stampeders announced on Monday morning that both running back Jon Cornish and receiver Maurice Price will not play in the game against the B.C. Lions on Friday night. Both players are progressing well, according to the team, and are expected to be in the lineup when Calgary hosts the Western Final at McMahon Stadium on Nov. 23.
