Calgary Stampeders News Roundup for October 13, 2013

Calgary Stampeders' Jon Cornish deserves Most Outstanding Player award
Last year, Jon Cornish looked on as Toronto Argonauts all-purpose threat Chad Owens walked away with the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player Award.
There won’t be any disappointment this time around.
The Calgary Stampeders tailback is the front-runner for the 2013 MOP, and really, it isn’t even close.
(Cue the wrath of Riders Nation).

Calgary Stampeders' Drew Tate and Jon Cornish move on from mistake
Don’t worry, Jon Cornish and Drew Tate will still be sharing turkey and mashed potatoes over Thanksgiving.
Following a botched handoff in the first quarter of the Calgary Stampeders’ 40-26 win over the B.C. Lions on Friday, television cameras focused on a heated exchanged between the star tailback and the quarterback, who entered the game in the short-yardage package at the Lions’ two-yard line.
The quarterback turned one way, Cornish went the other, and Tate was forced to throw it away.

Stamps not getting ahead of themselves after taming Lions
The Calgary Stampeders reside atop the CFL West Division standings with a sparkling 12-3 record.
They boast the top running back in the land in Jon Cornish (215 carries for 1,545 yards for an average of 7.2 yards per carry. They have three legitimate starting quarterbacks in Kevin Glenn, Drew Tate and Bo Levi Mitchell. They can lean on perhaps the best kicker of a generation in Rene Paredes (only three misses all year with a success rate of 93.8 per cent)

'Peanut' makes smashing debut in Stamps win
The man they call Peanut south of the border made quite the introduction for himself Friday night under the lights at McMahon Stadium.
Clifton Smith, a former NFL Pro Bowler, could have easily walked away from the game for good at the wise old age of 28. After all, he owns a credit-card processing business and a steam-cleaning operation in Tampa, Fla. And he actually enjoys life as a stay-at-home dad to his two toddlers, diapers and all.

Great Job Stamps - 12-3 is awesome!
Drew Tate needs to pull his head out of his ass, stop flipping out on the likes of JC / Huff, pucker up, and start kissing all the asses that got the team where it is today - it sure as hell wasn't his coin tossing or short yardage stats!!
Cornish breaks his own record!! Pause for Riders "doesn't matter, Sheets missed three games" speech.
