Calgary Stampeders News Roundup for October 27, 2014

Down by a dozen points on Friday, the Stampeders defence went to work.
Calgary kept the Saskatchewan Roughriders off the scoreboard in the fourth quarter and allowed the Stamps to turn a 27-15 deficit into a 40-27 victory.

Calgary Stampeders get timely picks from ballhawks Jamar Wall, Brandon Smith
    The celebration was somewhat subdued.
Calgary Stampeders defensive back Jamar Wall made a spectacular interception in his own endzone in the final seconds of a 40-27 CFL victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday night.
Then he got up and celebrated with … the fans.

Calgary Stampeders' Nik Lewis moving up CFL receiving chart
    Nik’s Number 11. Again.
Calgary Stampeders veteran slotback Nik Lewis surpassed former Edmonton Eskimos great Brian Kelly on Friday, moving into 11th spot in CFL history with 11,224 yards.
“I was 11th last year, and then Arland Bruce passed me up when I was injured,” Lewis said.
“So I went from 11th to 12th, back to 11th. And now I’m going to catch him at 10th.”

Stamps’ McDaniel looks forward to a return to the field
The way Marquay McDaniel’s season ended last year, it felt great for him to catch a break.
Sure, the broken hand that kept him out the past five games was disappointing, but the timing was certainly better than last year’s injury issue.
If you care to remember, and some Calgary Stampeders fans might want to forget it completely, McDaniel suffered an ankle sprain in the final week of the regular season, then was out for the West final.
