The Stampeders let a 24-0 lead slip away as the Riders came charging back in the second half, but a clutch drive in the final minutes by Drew Tate and the Stamps offence ripped the upset from Saskatchewan's hands.

    News
STAMPS HOLD ON FOR WIN NO. 12

The Calgary Stampeders managed to hang on for a wild 31-24 win in Regina over the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium. Improving to 12-2, the Stamps now sit three games ahead of the Riders and Edmonton Eskimos who are currently tied for second place in the West Division.
“We did some good things to start the second half building up a nice lead," says head coach and general manager John Hufnagel, "but they got it back. It was some bad (Stampeder) football and some good plays from them, but fortunately we had the opportunity to win the game in the last three minutes and the offence had a nice drive and put the ball in the end zone.”

Comeback Denied: Tate scores late TD for the win
In what looked like a incredible comeback again for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Calgary was able to score their only second half points on their final drive as they denied the comeback at Mosaic Stadium by winning 31-24.
After the first half where Riders changed pivots after three interceptions and Calgary held a 24-0 lead, it didn’t look like a comeback was going to happen. Tino Sunseri led the Riders all the way back to tie it up late in the fourth, but Drew Tate had the last laugh as he scored the game winning touchdown with under a minute to go.

Clinched: Stamps win in Regina and earn playoff berth
Drew Tate put the Calgary Stampeders on his back and carried them into the playoffs.
Tate drove into the end zone with 34 seconds left to play as Calgary earned a 31-24 victory over Tino Sunseri and the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday.
Tate's one-yard touchdown plunge proved to be the winning score, one that crushed any hopes of an improbable Roughriders' comeback win.

Tate scores winning TD as Stamps beat Riders
An evening which began with the Calgary Stampeders having clinched a playoff spot ended favourably on the scoreboard, in spite of a second-half defensive breakdown.
Quarterback Drew Tate scored on a one-yard plunge with 32 seconds left in the game, giving the Stamps – who led 24-0 at one point – a 31-24 triumph over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday night at Mosaic Stadium.

Calgary Stampeders hang on for win as Saskatchewan Roughriders erase huge deficit in second half
There's a reason you don't write off upper-echelon teams, no matter how bad it looks.
Especially the defending Grey Cup champions. Or the Calgary Stampeders.
Holding a commanding 24-0 lead in the third quarter Friday night at Mosaic Stadium, the Stampeders watched said lead evaporate. Quickly.

Stamps become first team to clinch playoff berth with crazy win in Saskatchewan
Before they even took the field, the Calgary Stampeders became the first CFL team to clinch a playoff spot.
They can thank their former defensive co-ordinator, Rick Campbell, and the Ottawa RedBlacks for that, as they dumped the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, 42-20, in the first half of Friday night’s CFL twin-bill.

Calgary Stampeders 31, Saskatchewan Roughriders 24 -- Five Key Plays
Jeff Fuller goes down with injury
Fresh off of missing six games due to a separated shoulder suffered in Hamilton on Aug. 16, Fuller returned to the Stamps lineup Friday, but it didn’t last long. On his very first reception of the night, Fuller was hammered by a pair of Saskatchewan Roughriders defenders, his leg buckling awkwardly. His night was, obviously, done, after the cart came to get the 24-year-old, but the Stamps are fearing the worst and it could be a season-ending knee injury.

What was the final stats on penalties in the game?
Sure seemed the Stamps could have put more points on the board but for all the penalties again?
While I don't have any stats to prove it, but the Stamps must be last in the league in the passing department defensively.
