It's Friday Night Football and a doubleheader so you know it's a good night in the CFL.

It's the third Battle of Alberta in a month! Lots of roster changes for both teams. Including several starters with the most notable by the average viewer being the Eskimos rolling out Matt Nichols as their starting QB.

Calgary and Edmonton rank 6th and 7th respectively for most plays with the defense on the field. Calgary's defense has been out there for 670 plays while the Eskimos have faced 691. Only Hamilton has faced more plays.

Nik Lewis has been passing milestones all season and has a pair on the horizon again. He is 117 yards short of a 9th consecutive 1000 yard season and only 5 yards away from passing Earl "The Pearl" Winfield to move into #14 all time.

Jon Cornish reaches a milestone of his own tonight as it's his 100th CFL game, he's also 53 yards away from a 1000 yard season. Cornish would be the 8th Canadian to reach 1000 yards since they calculated individual rushing in 1954. Kevin Glenn will be playing in his 111th consecutive game which is 2nd on the active Ironman list

Johnny Forzani is sitting tied for second in the CFL with 7 catches of 30+ yards.

Did you know trivia - Jeff Garcia sits 8th in All Time Stampeder rushing yards with 2,358.

Key for Edmonton is their linebackers. All 3 of the starters rank in the Top 9 for tackles this year with JC Sherritt leading the way with 101 and only 29 away from setting the single season record (note tackles were first calculated as a stat in the early 80s).

When Nichols takes the first snap for Edmonton they will join Winnipeg as the only clubs with 3 different starting QBs this year. Calgary and Saskatchewan have both had 2 different starters and the other 4 clubs have stuck with the same signal caller all year.

Between the two teams they have 14 players born in Alberta.

Now you're loaded with info for the game, let's get to kickoff!

Three games in a month... Great way to kill a rivalry. But having said that, Stamps will win.

    No doubt.

That being said, the Edm - Cal rivalry is dead anyways.

The new hotness is Sask - Cal. I have a few friends who cheer for the Riders and none that cheer for Edmonton, so it makes it a lot funner.

A Stampeders win tonight would pretty well eliminate the Eskimos from finishing any higher than 3rd in the West. Also an Eskimos loss completes the first winless September in the history of the franchise. Let's hope the Stamps make some history tonight!

Wow, Armstead had a ton of speed in his first return - miss that foot tackle and he's away to the races.

Real nice first half by Corndog...something in the order of 130 yards! :D

Also some nice grabs by Forzani in the second quarter.

Totally outclassed a team that shouldn't even be in this one. ;)

The Esks have a good defence...but the rest of the squad shouldn't even bother dressing...:p

20-7 at the half is a decent lead, but it would be an embarrassment if the Stampeders can't stretch that in the second half...;)

We go from a great play by McDaniel to the crumby direct snap to Cornish and finish it all up by another missed FG by Shaw. :p

6 sick people in the house here tonight. I'm giving in and will watch on demand tomorrow...after the game I have to coach (we're 0-2 but called the Jayhawks so it's expected...just call me the thin Charlie Weis). Missing too much running to various ill bodies anyhow.
