    Happy Canada Day!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Regular Season Week 1 - Game 4
    Calgary vs Montreal
    Date: Sunday July 1st
    Time: 5:00pm Mountain
    TV/Radio: TSN / QR77 (Calgary) / CJAD (Montreal) / ESPN3 (USA)

The gloves are off, the bullets are real and every play matters now. The two longest standing CFL coaches face off again in what is the chance at renewal for two franchises that underachieved last year.

Calgary is the site of change and reloading with a new QB, new starting RB and revamped defense. Sure the mainstays are there in Nik Lewis, Randy Chevier, Rob Cote, Keon Raymond and Juwan Simpson but many new players stepping up like Drew Tate, Deron Mayo, Chris Bauman, Kenny Pettway, and Fred Bennett.

Montreal is nearly the opposite in replacing a key component year after year instead of setting adrift multiple cogs in the same offseason. Slowly they have replaced guys like Bryan Chui, Ben Cahoun with new faces. Yet Anthony Calvillo is still there having outlasted his successors on multiple occasions. Guys like Quincy Carter, Chris Leak and Ricky Santos have entered and left the CFL while this future Hall of Famer continues on.

Bring your noisemakers and let's go! Tailgating started hours ago already for some...we'll be able to see by their posts which ones those are!

Should be an interesting game. A lot of unknowns - will Calvillo still perform at his highest level? How will Tate do as the starter from day 1? Will Cornish be able to run roughshod, or will he be shut down?

Personally I think this is gonna be a shootout. Stamps by less than a TD.

Two things I'm really curious about today:

    1. How will Tate do? Will he finish the whole game? Will he silence skeptics (for now)?

    2. How will our D-Line and LBs do? Will they get any sacks? How much pressure will they get on AC?

My only real concern is Keenan McDougall at safety. You know that the Als will try to exploit him & AC will do just that. Having said that, the Als will have their hands full trying to stop our receiving corps as well & Jon Cornish. I fully expect our Front 7 to pressure AC & hurry his throws.. If we can interrupt his rhythm we have a chance to beat the Als tonight.
As far as Drew Tate goes, he has to prepare a lot differently for this game than in the preseason. Not so much physically but mentally. He has to calm down & not be so psyched up that his adrenalin is pumping too much. To me, that is Tate's biggest problem when you compare him to other starting qbs in the CFL. he is wound up much too tight. Hopefully, DD & Huff who were through it themselves can help Tate with that.
The Sean Whyte vs Rene Paredes duel at kicker will be interesting to watch as well. The 5 o'clock start means no fireworks this year.

Love that twitter responds so quickly.

Request game day photos from Calgary and look what Chevy posts:

The weather is supposed to suck for the game, but The Weather Network says that it's only supposed to rain "1mm" between this afternoon and this evening, so maybe it won't be too bad.

    Nice!

Much better weather there than we have in squally, windswept Edmonton this afternoon...no reason for the folks not to get out to McMahon today!

I hope the game gets a real good turnout...

Well end up with about 12 days straight of triple digits. Today it hit 100F before lunch. Our cool period of the night dips down to 79F....
