With the women's world title being played here this year this could serve as the soccer thread for all things Canadian.

Tonight the Impact host the return quarterfinal game against Mexican team Pachuca. Some 31,000 tickets have already been sold. They tied 2-2 in Mexico last week and could move on to the semi-final with a 0-0 or a 1-1 tie.

Only TFC has previously taken a Canadian team that far.

a wild finish in front of 38,104 at the Big O with the impact reaching the semis on a very late goal by rookie Cameron Porter who couldn't have picked a better time to score his first goal in the pros at the 94th minute.

impact become the first Canadian team to knock out a Mexican one in the late playoff stages of the Concacaf tourney.

the #8 seed ousted the #1 seed so they are not to be taken lightly. By doing that they earned the right to host the return game but if montreal wins then they would get to host the return game for the final.

The Impact voted for the strike but was in the minority. Free agency at 28 was an issue. That's old for a soccer player.

A nice 2-0 win at home in front of 33,675 fans for the Impact in the first leg of the concacaf semi-final played tonight.

Second leg is at Alejandro Moreno Soto stadium in Alajuela, Costa Rica April 7. Seats close to 18,000 there.

Impact can lose 1-0 or even 3-1 or 4-2 to become the first Canadian team to ever reach the tourney final.

In the other semi another Costa Rican squad Herediano shocked Mexico City team Club America at home 3-0 and are poised to be the Impact's final opponent for the title series.

It would be a rare occurrence to see TFC fans cheering for Montreal. Hoping we can draw 50 grand like we did with the jays.

Looks like we'll get some Mexican fans as well. Club America scored 5 unanswered goals in the first half.

The privilege of playing in estadio Azteca the largest soccer stadium in America is tremendous

Canada has a lot of Mexican fans. I remember traveling to Edmonton for a pair of Canadian National Team games and being outnumbered by the Mexican fans.

It's a lock. 6-0 club America the final. Win or lose this is truly a historic event for Canadian soccer.

35,000 tix sold in just 2 days for the Big O. We can expect upwards of 60,000. The April 25 game in San Jose has been moved to September to give Montreal a full week off before their return match.

Too tired to drive to Ottawa. Glad they won their home opener 1-0. 5,000 fans not too bad.

Watched raps fall in OT and jays walk-off homer in 10th instead.

Tough break at the end but hey we'll take it. 1-1 draw in a city of 21.2 million people.
