Tough loss in Fraser - I feel he was just getting into his prime and really starting to show his talent last year.

Marwan Hage???? Was he in the league when Miles Gorrell was still playing??? Honestly not the pick I thought of when looking at Hamilton.

Three very solid players lost by Calgary in Glenn, Deane and Fraser.

Thanks for everything during your time in 'red and white', fellas, and best of luck to all of you in the future...

Eric Fraser - Calgary - 5th Year in the CFL
    2013 - 29 tackles, 9 special teams tackles, 1 sack, 2 INT,
    Career - 108 tackles, 37 special teams tackles, 3 sacks, 5 INTs, 1 Defensive TD, 3 FR

Brings some knowledge of what Ricky Campbell will want to do. He has matured his game and makes better responses to the play at hand.

Jordan Verdone - Montreal - 2nd Year in the CFL
    2013 - 3 special teams tackles
Career - 3 special teams tackles

Jordan was a hard hitting CIS linebacker that has settled into a special teams role at the CFL level. Probably that will continue with maybe a few more stints on the field as a defender.

Jason Pottinger - Toronto - 9th Year in CFL
    2013 - 13 tackles, 14 special teams tackles, 1 sack
    Career - 179 tackles, 97 special teams tackles, 6 sacks, 3 FR

A special teams expert in BC that got him a raise moving over to Toronto. Had a fantastic season in 2010 making 71 defensive tackles but has been back to specials lately. Either way he'll be a welcome addition to Ottawa.

Marwan Hage - Hamilton - 11 Year in CFL
Probably the biggest surprise in the Draft. A long time vet in Hamilton plus being a major force in the community it remains to be seen if Marwan reports to Ottawa or is somehow traded back.

Rory Kohlert - Winnipeg - 3rd Year in CFL
    2013 - 45 catches for 493 yards with 3 TDs
Career - 55 catches for 641 yards with 4 TDs

Ottawa will have to sign him as Rory was the only pending FA taken in the draft. I believe he'll be a future 1000 yard receiver. A good possession guy that doesn't give you 50 yard bomb options but instead runs a solid 15 yard route.

Andrew Marshall - BC - 2nd Year in CFL
A practice roster player that was overlooked in the CFL Draft. Good future ahead of him and could become a role DT for the RedBlacks.

Justin Capiciotti - Edmonton - 3rd Year in CFL
    2013 - 14 tackles, 4 special teams tackles, 2 sacks
Career - 20 tackles, 8 special teams tackles, 2 sacks

A rotational DE last year thanks to injuries on the Eskimos DL. Has looked good in some special teams situations on the punt cover team.

Zack Evans - Saskatchewan - 3rd Year in CFL
    2013 - 1 tackle, 1 special teams tackle, 1 sack
Career - 3 tackles, 1 special teams tackle, 1 sack

A former junior player from the Prairie Thunder that has great size to be a DT in the CFL but hasn't cracked the rotation yet.

Ok so we have ourselves a team. Let's go! Sign about 50 more guys and let's have training camp tomorrow.

One thing I'm upset about though is that they don't expect fan jerseys to be available until May. They do know there's this little holiday tradition at the end of December where people purchase things and wrap them up and give them to each other right???? HONESTLY they should've drafted a Roughrider marketing exec. Trade Sholo for a suit with a corner office! In any other league they would've had merchandise available from day one, as soon as the name came out there'd be racks and racks of jerseys, hats, shirts, BBQ flippers, shoelaces, scarves (don't tell GoAlsGo), toques and more.

Anyone catch XGamer's juicy reply on twitter to Weightman's presidential nomination. Very Durantesque to say the least.

By heading to Ottawa Marwan might be extending his career 2 or 3 years. Hamilton wants to upgrade to a younger and stronger, maybe bigger centre. Marwan snapping to Glenn isn't that bad. At his best, Marwan provides stern resistance to impending bull-rushers - his weakness is obviously pulling and vertical blocking. But he's an experienced hand, much like Dom Picard in Sask'n.
