Here's some questions from the crumbling/decaying mind of Nasty Nate to consider for the upcoming CFL season:

    1. If their new head coach Benevides falters, does Wally become the temporary heir apparent in BC?

    2. Does Plop (Paul LaPolice) have a free pass for the entire 2012 season, no matter what depths the bombers may sink to?

    3. Is their a heir apparent to John Hufnagel in Calgary? ie. one thats on the roster?

    4. How will the CFL put lipstick on a pig in Toronto this year? Or with a deep-pocketted owner, does it matter?

    5. Should their be concern in BC about the Als dropping from 18,500 season tickets to under 14,000?

    6. Will AC Calvillo last the season or is he just suiting up to beef up his pension? ie. one last year of $400,000+ GUARANTEED!

    7. Where will 2012's first coaching controversy be?

    8. What player and/or team are you most looking forward to following this year?

    1) Wally has always been loyal to his coaches. Case in point both Benevides & Chapdelaine who at times, have faltered as coordinators. Yet despite calls for their heads the past 10 or so years has always stuck with them. Back to back years of 5-13 or 6-12 seasons would probably do it, though. If Benevides screws up what Wally built then he is a bad coach & deserves the door.
    2) I think LaPo is NOT on a short string. Tim Burke is more than capable of being a CFL head coach but as LaPo has signed an extension Burke's head coaching aspirations will take place elsewhere. The Bombers can't afford to fire head coaches one year into a long term deal anymore with the debt they have taken on for IG Field. If he falters, the Bombers will be stuck until at least going into his final year of his contract.
    3) John will be Head Coach here until he says so. Yes, there are people who could take his place. But not quite yet. Dave Dickenson is the obvious choice but he is still gaining experience as an offensive coordinator. If Dave sticks it out, I think John will step aside & assume the role of involving himself in the football operations side of the Stampeders only & let Dave coach. But it sure doesn't look like that is coming anytime soon. Question is, will we lose Dave to another CFL team first?
    4) Toronto needs a consistent winner. Not a team that wallows in the basement every year. The biggest issue seems to have been solved for the Argos & that is their qb. With Ricky Ray there as well as an upgraded receiving corps, the Argos could go 10-8 this year. Look for Cory Boyd to have a solid year, but like Joff even when he was on top & the best running back in the CFL, a better passing game means he'll rush for 1,100 yards instead of 1,800. The offense will be more dangerous because of it. The key to the fans coming back in Toronto is consistency. Just be a winner & be competitive. Then the fans will come.
    5) The Als had a down year for them last season. Who knows why the season ticket count is down. To me, Montreal isn't a great sports town. If it isn't Les Canadiens nobody cares. And I don't count the "one off" 60,000 fans at the Big Owe to see David Beckham play. Perhaps the Als fans have become spoiled the past 12 years or so & are "laissez-faire" when it comes to their support. Clearly, something has to be done to hold onto that base & get it growing again. Where is Larry Smith when you need him?
    6) As much as I admire AC for playing so well for so long, I am hoping this is his final season. There's nothing sadder than watching a great pro athlete not go out on top or after his skills have eroded. For AC's sake, I hope he knows the end is near.
    7) Sonic has set Kavis Reed up to be the CFL's first casualty. Tillman will say he gave the guy all the tools he needed to win but he just couldn't get it done. Then he'll appoint another sucker... err... head coach in his place & go on from there.
    8) Drew Tate, Jon CFornish & the Stampders of course. Then the Blue Bombers & moving into their new stadium in September... or October... Or maybe in 2013.

WOW - Lalonde sounds like quite the 'winner'!

But the bigger question is who hired this clown?

And who let him run loose in the zoo?

Well they shut the zoo down pretty quick. He's one that in 5 years there'll be no mention of his shadow ever being in the office.

Sounds like the guy in KC running the Chiefs. Another winner. Forget the guy's name but if you can google it, he's a tyrant.

There's never been a shortage of some incredibly and sick egos in our league. Some of these river rats actually could win some games and build decent teams - men like Leo Cahill.
But there's been some bad rubbish working our game - many of them americans, but also some crazy canucks.

Short list - Lonnie Glieberman, Lyin' LarrySmith, Bernie Glieberman, JoJo Polak, Horn Chen, Cinnamon, several others. Even a guy who used to ply his trade in Winnipeg....

This guy alienated everyone. Fans, companies & fellow underlings. Wettenhall took the advice of 1 person instead of doing an executive search. That seems to be the crux of the problem. Wettenhal took the advice of one person & that decision cost the Als advertisers, customers, morale & season ticket holders.
