    If you wear No. 99, you pretty much have to put points on the board.

    The problem for Corey Mace is that he lines up on the defensive side of the ball.

    Most of the time.

    He came in for a short-yardage play against the B.C. Lions last season and hauled in a one-yard touchdown, sparking a wild celebratory dance in the endzone for the Calgary Stampeders.

    And the 6-foot-3, 287-lb. defensive lineman has been campaigning for more time with the pigskin ever since.

    So far, offensive co-ordinator Dave Dickenson hasn’t recruited the big man for any training-camp routes.

    “He should!” Mace said. “I remind people daily that I have the best hands on the D-line. Now, every one of them is going to say, ‘That’s not true.’

    “But my record ... I’ve touched the ball two times in my CFL career, and they’ve both been touchdowns. On one, I ran for 60 (yards on a fumble return) and scored, and the other, I went up top and got one.
