Came across this tonight, an old article from the Spokane newspaper back in 1996. I never knew that Toronto held Dickenson's neg list rights at that point. The Dickenson-Flutie connections got their start right there as Flutie had just signed in Toronto making bringing in Super Dave not likely.

    Dickenson-Flutie
Dave's rights were sent to Calgary because Doug was signed
    Both played in Calgary
    Both played in San Diego

    Dickenson-Lulay
Both were stars in the State of Montana (Dave - Montana; Travis - Montana State)
Both were signed in Seattle and played with Matt Hasselbeck
    Both played in BC

On the latter connection, one of them had a slightly better completion percentage. Just slightly though. :p

Some of Dave's comments were funny. I'm sure he has a different feeling about things now.

Ty Williams sure could've been something in the CFL. Amazing that he walked away after that year in Toronto.

He hung around NFL rosters for a number of years. I think he lost his desire to play by then.
