He'll be back! For the Lions stretch drive. The guy went to Vancouver to hammer out a conditional contract. Even if another NFL team picks him up to serve as practice roster fodder, Solly Bomb Bombs is a gamer, he wants to play and he wants to win another Cup. The Vikings were foolish for not putting him onto their 58 man roster. They are the pukiest team in the NFL - he's a special teams demon if nothing else. But he's a true tweener - too large and small to be an NFL DB, a bit too short and light to be a prototypical NFL linebacker.

there's an ineresting poll on montrealalouettes.com's forum on how the als will lose at bc place. Hilarious stuff. I encourage all to vote. We just seem jinxed there for some reason.

Then again do the Lions really have any glaring holes to fill that would demand dangling a top end defensive player out there?

Wally never shows much anxiety when it comes to trade bait. He'll just roster up Solly Bomb Bombs and release some practice roster players to make cap space. Wally isn't a fool so when he gets a desperate mid-afternoon phone call from Wild-Eyed Eric or Tiny Taman he'll hear all offers.

I suspect he doesn't want to trade Bighill or Solly to a conference rival unless he plunders his victim of their best players.

The most obvious is to keep Solly or Bighairlip under the Braley umbrella which means a trade to Toronto. Still a cap issue and in Solly's case he's in his option year so the new squad would have to have a conditional agreement for re-signing him.
