The Stampeders have added four international offensive linemen to their rookie-camp roster including Devonte Danzey, Mike McQueen, Justin Renfrow and Nick Ritcher.

Here is more information on the new players:

    Devonte Danzey, #62
    Offensive lineman
    College: Auburn
    Height: 6-foot-2
    Weight: 305 lb.
    Born: Sept. 3, 1992

Danzey attended a tryout camp with the National Football League’s Cincinnati Bengals in 2016. In college, he played 29 games over three seasons (2013-15) at Auburn and made starts at both guard and centre. He played one season at Hutchinson Community College and earned first-team all-conference honours.

    Mike McQueen, #57
    Offensive lineman
    College: Ohio
    Height: 6.06
    Weight: 297
    Born: Aug. 31, 1993

McQueen signed with the NFL’s San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He was claimed on waivers by the Dallas Cowboys later that year. McQueen played four seasons at Ohio and was a three-year starter. He made 28 starts at left tackle and four at left guard for the Bobcats. In 2015, he earned third-team all-Mid-American Conference honours as he helped the Ohio offence average 181.3 rushing yards per game.

    Justin Renfrow, #64
    Offensive lineman
    College: Miami
    Height: 6.04
    Weight: 340
    Born: Nov. 23, 1989

Renfrow signed with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals in 2014 and later that season spent time on the Green Bay Packers’ and Seattle Seahawks’ practice squads. In 2015, he attended training camp with the San Francisco 49ers. Renfrow signed a futures contract with the Dallas Cowboys on Jan. 20, 2016, and was later signed by the Buffalo Bills. Renfrow played on the defensive line at the collegiate level including his senior season at Miami in 2013. In 13 games for the Hurricanes, he had 36 total tackles and one forced fumble. He transferred to Miami after three seasons at Virginia, where he played 22 games and had 18 tackles including 1.5 tackles for loss.

    Nick Ritcher, #66
    Offensive lineman
    College: Richmond
    Height: 6.05
    Weight: 300
    Born: Dec. 1, 1992

Ritcher signed with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He played five seasons at the University of Richmond and he earned first-team all-Colonial Athletic Association honours in 2015 as he was part of an offence that racked up 6,326 total yards, the second-highest total in school history. His father Jim played 16 seasons in the NFL and was a starter on the Buffalo Bills offensive line for the team’s four consecutive Super Bowl appearances from 1990-93.

In other transactions, international offensive lineman Ruben Carter has been released and national offensive lineman Karl Lavoie has been placed on the retired list.

NOTE: If you peruse the Stampeders training camp roster, it appears that they are somewhat thin at the running back position, SO FAR!
