What do you guys think Reid has left in the tank? Could he push for the starting job or is he basically fighting for a backup role?

Reid will be cut. They aren't going to cut Whittaker who is younger?

No you're definitely right. And word is they've got quite the rookie on their hands there, someone who might even push Whittaker. Reid was a speed back who suddenly has no speed. I'm not sure how he's going to compensate for that.

Freddy Mercury was a legit 4.4 guy when he burst upon the Wpg scene as Rothman Roberts backup. He's barely 30 and if he's 98% re-habbed from his injury I still think he's a 4.6/4.65 40 guy. However, the guy has absolutely no power. If he had a bit of George Reed/Lovell Coleman/Leo Lewis type power he'd be better off and still have a spot with a CFL squad....

The drop-off last year from the year before was stunning. We've seen guys fall off the map pretty suddenly but not very often in such dramatic fashion. In the course of one year he went from being perhaps the biggest home run threat in the league at running back to struggling to get past the line of scrimmage.

No way Reid cracks the roster with Whitaker and Devine hanging out there.

Devine! Yes thank you that was the name I was looking for.

Last year's bomber squad couldn't open holes for Attila the Hun...

Jim Brown might not have average 3.5 with that group of palookas blocking for him!

But back to Reid - if he doesn't have holes he's virtually useless!

Quite true. Jon Cornish can bust tackles or make guys miss outright. Reid has always struck me more as a straight line speedster. No holes + loss of aforementioned speed = no production.
