With free Agency only a matter of days away you can expect the other teams (vultures) salivating over the Stampeder "carcass" to upgrade their teams. Such is the way of life when teams win a championship and the players decide that their "all world" status now entitles them to huge? (by CFL standards) new contracts.
How much of the Stampeders will be gutted?

    'Twas ever thus...

The Stampeders have long been a target in this league for not only player personnel, but also coaches, and front office staff.

This off-season won't be any different.

But then it's difficult to maintain a low profile when everyone else can see you.

That's just a fact of life for a franchise which has for years occupied a perch several stratum higher than most everyone else.

I am glad the Stamps got Bo signed. I am sad they have lost so much defense this off season. But it is day one of free agency, and the Stamps are not usually big free agent players, day one, or day fifty. As usual, training camp will tell a more complete story, and then the season shows all the players that the other teams wish they had, and don't understand how the Stamps found.

Other teams did improve themselves with Stamps property today, but that happens every year.

Every season the Stamps roster gets depleted, but for some reason we always find a gem or two in off season tryouts. This year Hufnagel and company will have really focus on building the D-line. Totally decimated by free agency today.
Gone are Johnson and most likely to the Ticats Davis. Leaving big holes to fill.
