    Preseason Week B - Game 5
    Montreal @ Toronto
    Date: Tuesday June 19th
    Time: 12:00 local
TV/Radio: No TV / CJAD (Montreal)

Kicking off the second week of pre-season with a nooner! Loving this idea and hope the Argos bridge the gap to turn these school kids into life long fans. 30,000 elementary school kids/teachers/parents plus the typical season ticket holders means it'll be the largest pre-season attendance by far this year. Could push 45,000 into SkyDome which would be Toronto's best in a long time. The last time I can see the Argos with an attendance over 30,000 was Week 2 of the 2009 season. Last time the Argos were over 40,000 was Week 18 of the 2007 season.

    Toronto Things to Watch:
The back up QB battle should be interesting. Jarious Jackson battles newcomer Ricky Santos and a couple of promising rookies in Trevor Harris and Zach Collaros.

Also the youngest player in the CFL Jamann Webb will be on the bubble today without the safety net that CIS players carry in that he can't return to his D3 school (perhaps he could enroll in the CIS but his goal is go pro or go home) http://sports.nationalpost.com/2012/06/ ... mpression/

    Montreal Things to Watch:
Montreal's back up QB battle has Canadian ties as both Kyle Quinlan and Kyle Graves are still in camp. Josh Neiswander clearly has the edge just based on how much time he was given in the first pre-season game.

Montreal also carries the most non-import LBs currently and they will be tossed in the fire today to see who is transformed into roster players and who just gets burned up.

    Local ties:
    Toronto - None?

Montreal - Reed Alexander (Dinos), Bryn Roy (Delamead), Curtis Dublanko (Leduc)

Just a reminder. The only radio coverage of the game today is from CJAD carrying the Montreal feed.

Toronto is going with a non-import OL today. Big return from Chad Owens to get things rolling. Kids sound like they are enjoying it. (heard that they even cheered the refs coming out)

Alouettes knock the pass down and pick it off. Ricky tosses a INT to start the game it appears.

So it sounds like the Toronto OL is providing much of the same protection as Ricky has been running from in Edmonton.

High humidity alert in Toronto today keeps the roof closed. Shame!

Brandon Whitaker shows that he really wants to keep that starting job and scores with a nice move. Alouettes first team offense shows that they didn't need two weeks of action in the pre-season...

End of the first quarter and it's still 7-0 Als.

McPherson is in for Calvillo now.

Good grief, why are they playing in the morning?

I would be PISSED if I was a T.O. season ticket holder and had to work today.....

10-0 Alouettes after a Sean Whyte FG from 42.

Those kids are being super loud. Love hearing it through the radio!

The last few years the season ticket holders haven't showed up when they played it in the evening so they opened it up to the kids. 30,000 elementary school students there today plus the diehard season ticket holders and the guys that showed up thinking it was a Blue Jays nooner.

If nothing else they'll make more money on popcorn than normal, in the best case scenario they'll have created 30,000 new fans for the future.

Oh, I didn't know they invited elementary kids to it. That makes it pretty cool, actually.

Another Toronto drop. Ugly now with the 2 and outs.

Ricky Ray goes 3 of 7 passing for 27 yards and 2 INTs.

In 2 pre-season games Ray is 8 of 15 passing for 99 yds and 2 INTs.

You can hear them through the radio broadcast which is something since the radio booth at SkyDome is up quite a ways. I really hope they did this right and gave the kids free shirts to advertise their brand. If half of them come back one time with a parent this year that's 30,000 tickets that may not have been purchased. Over 3,000 extra per game on average...

Prefontaine hits from 48. 10-3 for the Alouettes now.

McPherson is directing traffic now and making some good decisions. We'll see if this penalty is against Montreal.

Bo Bowling (Oklahoma) with the hold that brings back the big gain.

Oh!!!! Toronto special teams comes through. Blocked the punt and returned it for a TD. Coach O'Shea continues to be the special teams wizard.

Alouettes come back in a hurry. McPherson to Patterson for the TD.

    17-10 Als.
