The league office announced that Alouettes LB Kyries Hebert was fined by the CFL after a hearing today in Toronto for Hebert's clothesline tackle on Calgary's Jon Cornish last Saturday at McMahon.

Based on the severity of the infraction, Commissioner Mark Cohon opted to impose the highest fine permitted under the league's CBA with the Player's Association, namely one-half of Hebert's game cheque:

Among 4 others also fined were Stampeders DT, Corey Mace, who connected with a punch on an unnamed Als player.

So how much was the penalty, exactly? Or is it a big secret?

As was mentioned in the original post, it's "one-half" of one of his game cheques.

So if you know what Kyries Hebert earns in a season, just divide that by eighteen and divide the dividend by half again and you'll arrive at his fine amount.

Don't know what Hebert earns in a season?

The league needs to do much better at protecting its investments. You have to recall this is Herbert who is a repeat offender.
