Great game for the Corndog behind a solid blocking scheme by the OL and other blockers in the backfield for 199 yards net rushing, 185 of which were compiled by Cornish...:D

First place in the rushing derby for Corndog with even better numbers to build on with 8 games to go...;)

Give us some love over here, Jon! :D

I love when the corndog stopped by the cheerleading brigade to do a quick playboy shoot - after his 165 yard TD run!

Can you imagine if this offensive line personnel grouping was together and in sync from the start!

Even so, Corndog's yardage thus far through 10 weeks projects for nearly 1500 yards rushing over 18 games. And that's when you include the start of the season when he was often basically getting swarmed on the hand-off!

Looking at the trend over the past several games since the time the coaching staff found the right mix of personnel on the offensive line and the unit finally gelled, it becomes even easier to picture him pushing for and even surpassing 1500+ yards rushing.

The current upward trend for the Stamps rushing attack, and Cornish specifically is nothing short of remarkable. By my count Cornish has amassed 628 yards on the ground over the past 5 games (in stark contrast to only 199 over the first 5 weeks.) That would put him on pace a utterly mind blowing 2261 yards over a full season!

Granted it would be unrealistic for anybody to keep up the ridiculous pace he's currently on (wouldn't it?), but I don't see him slowing down much either. I mean he's only just starting to get back to his career yard-per-carry average! In light of Dickinson's commendable commitment to the run on most night this season, it wouldn't surprise me to see him to average close to 100 yards per game the rest of the way. So with 8 games left, an addition 600 to 700 yards tacked on to his present total of 827 doesn't seem unreasonable at all. If anything it may turn out to be a conservative estimate if he keeps running the way he has been.

All told, I'm predicting a 1600+ yard season out of him!

    Think I'm crazy?

Well let's see. Time to dust off the old algebra skills... 628 divided by 5, multiplied by the 10 games remaining... that's a projected 1256 yards based on the trend of the past 5 games. Add that to his current total of 827 and that's a grand total of 2083 projected yards!!!!

    Now that's crazy!

Now that's what I call an amazing turnaround for a running back and his offensive line convoy. Those hoggies have gone from being thrown under the bus to driving it! Or should I say rampaging down the street doing their best Grand Theft Auto impression, with opposing defensive players playing the role of the hapless pedestrians and getting run over?

    Yes. Yes I should.

I loved it when he busted 6 tackles at the start of the 4th quarter to turn a sure loss into an almost incomprehensible 30 yard gain. Just sayin' :p

    Classic, man! ;)

You looked to be down for a loss in the backfield, then elude 6 tacklers, and run it for 30 yards...

In my more than 45 years of watching Stampeders football, I've honestly never seen a back wearing red and white who had better balance than you do.
