There's new hope in Wpg. Mack just hired some new scouts - names are Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles & Amy Winehouse's supplier!

His excuse as to how Picard got away was classic. Almost as if Jessie Ventura was doing the answering in that interview trying to explain how Bobby Heenan was just offering advice when he interfered in a WWE wrestling match.

Its called 'hunkering down'. He was forced to do the interview when the local reporters complained to Buchko and Bell (CEO/CFO) that The Drowsyman was avoiding them. No kiddin'! If I had drafted J Etienne & T Pencer with front-line draft picks, I wouldn't want to talk to anyone either. But Mack is a silver-tongued devil, so he'll just use a form of slicksterism & double-talk to confound his critics. And its not just the Etienne/Pencer trash, its also the epic fail on our o-line, picking up BC's trash in Pierce and going with sophmores and slow-men at the critical MLB spot. Continuing Plop as head coach is a minor offense - he's a well below average headman but at least he's a tryer and he's also well above average in the community.
Give Plop a group of 45 players in the top 25 percentile of the league and Plop will guide them to a slightly below average record and a playoff shot. Give him a group in the bottom 20 percentile and he'll just give you a weekly display of football phlegm.

Truth be told Max has some built-in excuses for his (and Plops) failures on the field:

    1. Winnipeg is not exactly a destination place for CFL free agents, so why even try?

    2. Winnipeg fans have proven to be very accepting of mediocrity. This year is a perfect example.

    3. The new stadium provides camouflage for poor performance. Fans aren't going to let PLop or Mad Max stop them from filling the thing.

    4. The prior 10 years under the dictatorship of Lordshit Lyle didn't exactly build a solid structural foundation for the organization. Essentially, all Lyle did was threaten the fans with NO TEAM if you don't buy tickets, hire his own mugs like Mike Kelly, operate a skelton scouting crew, inhale a whopper salary of over $500k a year while working more for Cancercare Manitoba than the Bombers. The continued employment of Count Poop, Ross Hodgkinson as bomber assistant GM is testimony to this.

    5. Consistency at the board of director level. The form chart is the bombers try to fill these spots with mostly knife-n-forkers and jock-sniffers. No different this year. However, couple of the guys have solid connections to the NDP finance trough - and got Premiere Selinger to cough up the K to build them a new facility. Chances of repayment in less than 90 years (0.0%). Re-upping MadMacks and Plop to long-term contracts was expected when the football brainpower on Maroons Rd is extremely limited.
