For those who didn't see the news report two days ago featuring this incredible feat over the skies of Rio de Janeiro, here's the Youtube link:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN8pzn0-AcI

It's a long video but if you're at all a flying or aircraft buff like I am, it's well worth taking the time to enjoy the ride as Jetman, while strapped to a personal wing, soars past Sugar Loaf and the Statue of Christ the Redeemer, and over the beach at Ipanema where he ultimately lands.

I thought the parasailing my daughter and I did over the Bay of Banderas last summer was amazing, but as great as that experience was, it had nothing on this! ;)

What an amazing video. He buzzed Christ The Redeemer a number of times. I bet the people there must have been wondering what was going on. The jet wing didn't look too heavy. Bet within 10 years, it'll be for sale to the general public.

And here's more Jetman, this time flying in tight formation escorted by two trainer jets over the Swiss Alps:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVW2C1S1I0M

He even gets into the lead position briefly, as he's flying at his jet engines' top speed of 125 miles per hour, while the Albatross jet trainers hold pace behind him at the lowest speed they can maintain without stalling.

As the original news report I had seen on this a couple of days back said, it's hard not to see the three of them in formation and not think, somehow, that these aren't just three flying creatures of the same species...;)

I just hope for Jetman's sake, all of his forays end well.

Yeah, I realized that later, Madman. I'm still finding my way around the bells and whistles on the site, as most of us are.

    Thanks.

Where's the video button? Is it on the YT video or when we post something here?
