The more things change, the more they stay the same.

That old cliche rings true within Calgary Stampeders headquarters this season.

Over the last few months, many have pondered how lifelong football man John Hufnagel would transition from his day-to-day life as a practice-field pacing head coach into a leather-chair swivelling, full-time GM.

Other than not wearing a headset on gamedays and now sharing the authoritative roster gavel, it seems the 64-year-old’s role hasn’t changed all that much.

Hufnagel is still very much involved in the week-to-week game-planning, a job that’s, usually, left solely to the coaching staff.

Let's hope huff stays involved with the stampeders organization for awhile
longer. Of course we'll miss the fun stuff.
