I don't know the politics of why we ended up with two Stamps fan sites but I don't like it. There are good posters on both sites that don't always post in both forums and I feel that there is a distinct loss in this case. In my case I find myself posting less because if I make a post in one forum I don't want to repeat it in the other forum. Just had to get my 2 cents in.
I don't mind having two. I post a little over here and a little over there. It's not that overwhelming to try and keep up with.
Piz - maybe you can design an app that automatically posts a comment in both forums. I don't think there's a huge amount of acrimony between owners of either site but this site came about (from what I've been told) cuz the other was out of service on occasion. I do miss Hoof's posts - that man was classic!
I appreciate your comments, piz. If you know of anyone on the other site who wishes to come over and discuss the terms of their surrender, we'd be happy to entertain the prospect... TM
People now have to make choices & I'm fine with it. I also see Piz's perspective on the way he feels & I really do appreciate where he is coming from. However, contrary to what one poster on CFLH claims I said... Here's what I actually meant: I don't think there's anything wrong with being a member of BOTH sites. Not every topic is the same. Besides, you can have the same discussion on both sites & if different people are talking, the discussion may be totally different. We have some members who are members here & CFLH & that is great. I encourage more Stamps fans to do the same. But in the words of singer/songwriter Carol King, regarding having just one site, "Well, it's too late baby, now it's too late." Not gonna happen. As far as Hoof goes, if that crusty old fart wants to join up here, it's up to him.
I understand Hoof went after you like a house on fire. I'm sure it was nothing personal. Once he found out you were from Quebec it was game over. He really hates Quebec with a passion and you were simply a symptom.
yeah i overreacted too. forum posting can be a dangerous sport for the psyche. i've had to train to thicken my skin. i wouldn't mind having him back now.
Hey Quebecers aren't all that bad actually! In fact I married a girl from Montreal over the weekend... Just don't let them drive. And no that wasn't a joke. The wedding was in Canmore in the Mountains and it was pretty awesome if I do say so myself.
Congratulations. One week anniversary is paperclips. Proves that threads can be derailed in two forums.
Piz, there will never be just one Stamps forum anymore. If fans want to talk Stamps on both sites then great. If not, que sera sera. Their choice. I'm not going to worry about it.
