What does everyone think is going to happen with Rambo this season?

    From Al Cameron's blog: http://blogs.calgaryherald.com/2012/06/ ... tion-mark/

If Huff can cut Robert McCune then why can't he cut Rambo? My take is if he is going to have injury troubles & gives us 800 yards in offense we can get younger as well as cheaper players to do that. He's got a lot of mileage on him & maybe it's time to go in another direction if the younger guys can play.

Yeah, but Huff has a loyalty streak in him. How long did Huff keep an interest in Jabari Arthur who was injured for the better part of two seasons?

Arthur isn't 35 years old like Rambo who is starting to spend more time on the injured list than the active roster.

I've been saying for awhile that if Rambo has another big injury, someone (likely Landon Talley) is going to take over at that slot back position, and given Rambo's age he probably won't be able to win it back.

If that happens I can't see Rambo being kept around as a backup at his salary. Either he'll have to take a big pay cut or, more likely, he'll be out the door. There are younger, cheaper backup receivers out there on the upswing of their careers rather the the down slide.

If I had to guess I'd say Talley will see significant playing time at Rambo's expense and perhaps even start from the get go. Another frontrunner to crack the starting lineup would have to be impressive newcomer Marquay McDaniel. Rambo may hang around for awhile but once Maurice Price gets healthy and rejoins the Stamps I think Rambo will be packing his bags.

It also helps that Arthur is a non-import.

Fan 960 says Rambo is done in Calgary. Will either be put on long term IR or cash settlement reached. Disappointing way to end things but not surprising given Rambo's injury issues and poor season last year.

He can go back to making movie. "Rambo V - Training Camp" the first cut is the deepest.

At some point, the body breaks down. Rambo is in his mid 30's. If he can't make it thru training camp then it's time to retire.

I'm not really sure what everyone saw in Rambo to begin with?

He had one really, really great season, and not much before or since.

Pay him out, cut him loose and move on.
