LOBENDAHN TO JOIN ROUGHRIDERS PENDING PHYSICAL
According to most sources Samoa Joe will be starting this weekend vs. Wpg in the LDC. Guy still knows the basic Wpg offense and he'll go in at MLB for Sho Williams who kicks outside.
Joe will be in charge of stopping Chad Simpson, the bombers eccentric ex-NFL running back and with Joe's knowledge of the bomber blocking patterns, Simpson will be lucky to average 3 yds a pop - he'll be snuffed at the line, dropped in the backfield and get the odd 4 to 6 yd pop on mis-direction runs. Once the game is no longer in doubt (Sask wins in a cakewalk) Simpson might be able to re-pad his stats.
Joe will also be in on the odd blitz to snuff out Joey Elliott's passing clock.
The thing is, the guy should retire after all the injuries. He can't play anymore. Maybe as a part time player but certainly not as a full time one. Sad thing is he should walk away from the game while he still can. Some guys just can't do that. He will be told when to. Pretty sad.
