Marquay McDaniel signs extension

    Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import receiver Marquay McDaniel has signed a contract extension. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

    McDaniel played 14 regular-season games for Calgary in 2012 and was second on the team with 744 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He made 53 catches on the season and also had two carries for 15 yards, 12 punt returns for 130 yards, one kickoff return for 18 yards and one missed-field goal return for 31 yards.

    Nice scoop, Madman! ;)

    This signing probably also signals the club's intentions respecting Romby Bryant.

    Assuming they still have Joe West under contract, and that they want him back (which I assume they do), then with Mo Price in his option year and now McDaniel extended, along with the usual assortment of collegiate import free agent receivers they generally sign and invite to camp, I'm not sure they'd have any wish to pursue Bryant when he reaches free agency 3 weeks from now.
