Maybe. Maybe not.
So much for the clamour for a CFL expansion franchise in the Maritimes!
If they've downsized the stadium venue by 20 per cent and still can't sell it out...
Ticket prices are a major issue. Whoever is pricing these events isn't doing them any favors. $49 for endzone seats? The North Endzone seats can barely see the video screen or any of the action past mid field. The top seats in the South Endzone can't see the video board and have the same issue for action beyond mid-field.
The "Gold" seats at the ends (from the goalline to the 10) aren't exactly prime real estate and are going for $79.
To compare (top prices listed):
Goalline to 10 yd line - $43.50
Endzone (Section L) - $37.50
Goalline to 10 yd line -$58
Endzone - $33 at one end and $40 at the other
*Side note - Mosiac still sells Child Tickets. I haven't seen that listed in a long time.
Goalline to 10 yd line - $53
Endzone - $33.25
I got the Gold seats myself. I'd rather pay a little extra to be on the upper corner and have a better view of the entire field.
got my pizmo radar to spot him in the crowd. it emits a green and gold signal.
See my lengthy comment about expansion in the other expansion thread in CFL category, in response to this development also.
To be fair even 15,000 at those prices would be very respectable. It's not so much a matter of whether the Maritimes can draw 20,000 for this game but whether there is that 'core' of fans willing to pay the higher prices. The remaining 10,000 needed in a new stadium would obviously be charged less and will then draw the lower income crowd.
If they had a game like that in Laval at those prices I'm not sure there would even be 10,000.
Well here is my take on it the future cfl stars are the young one we take to games. What they need to do is have family sections and have family packages! Priced so a family can in fact all go together to a game. So they need to develop a fan base not only today but for the future. So make a few sections family sections of 4 to 5 seats at special pricing and affordable for a family of 5 or 4.
By the time you get the tickets in your hands (by courier) the end zone seats cost $62.50. Sat in the end zone during the last game here, Cal vs Ham, and if you sit high enough you get a pretty good view of the field. Hope to meet the same cheerleader that I met a couple years ago. Love digital cameras!!!
I remember the photo shot you supplied of her on the old GSG site, piz.
At your age, you don't want to get too excited...
Even more impressive given the above reasons...
Nice to see you around here, pizmo.
What's a deuvl look like?
premium Stupor Bowl seats will go for $2,600 each. What a load!
But you should be able to recognize him.
I understand he'll be wearing a 'Serge' suit...
Yes but we know the Alouettes won't be playing in the Super Bowl....
Like Eric Tillman. Look for my pitchfork.
Marsh hurt his thumb so you'll really get your money's worth with Neiswander
It'll be all the rage once Sheldon Cooper wears one
So, brushcut, big ego, small penis?
Here's a look at the stadium this year.
