Do you think Nik will be back in time for the West Final?

He just told Ryan Leslie from SN960 that he hopes to be.

Terrific news if he can make it, but only if he's fully recovered.

I wouldn't want to see either the club, or the remaining years of Nik's career, placed in jeopardy with a return before he's fully healed and can go all out.

Otherwise, the Stampeders would be best advised to just "Go 'West', young men!"...;)

Nik has long maintained he's a 'fast healer', and he's been awfully resilient during his storied career, so I guess, as improbable as it appeared in September, maybe, just maybe....

Yeah, a 100% Nik Lewis next year is more valuable to us than a 75% Nik Lewis in the Western Final this year.

Thick Nik may be wanting to play but my guess, and from what I have heard from Huff in the media, it's more wishful thinking than a reality. He may be a 50/50 shot at best, and that would be only for the Grey Cup if - no damn it, WHEN we get there would be my guess. As much as I'd love to see him in there, we need our healthiest guys out there. If Nik is one of our healthiest receivers for either the WF or GC, we'll be in a world of hurt, in more ways than one.

Took a chance without looking it up.

Vin Scully at the 1974 World Series between the Dodgers and the A's. first all-California series.

'I guess the man to throw out the first pitch would be Horace Greeley , but he's not here.'

Very astute observation by Scully. ;) :D

But it at least looks like he got the spelling right! :p

Nik Lewis: I Heal Like a Lizard
A smiling Nik Lewis held court with reporters Thursday morning after his first practice in nearly three months with the Calgary Stampeders.
“I heal like a lizard,” he said. “You know, I really believe that I’m almost human.”
Human or not, the 31-year-old slotback snapped his left fibula like a stick of raw spaghetti on Aug. 17 in a road game against the B.C. Lions. He later underwent surgery to repair the break and torn ligaments in his ankle.
No one with the Stampeders expected Lewis to have a hope of returning this season given the severity of the injury. Just last week, head coach/general manager John Hufnagel said the doctors believed a return it 2013 to be out of the realm of possibility.

What ever happened to Forzani? I thought he was going to be back mid to late season, but I have heard nothing since.

The word on Forzani has not been promising as the season has worn on.

I wouldn't expect him back until next year, at the earliest.

Let's hope his career is not done. ;)

Yes it appears Forzani is having a tough time coming back from a very serious injury. You have to wonder if he will make it back again?

No Nik Lewis for the West Final - he was not on the official roster released this morning.

Hopefully the Red and White Army picks up a win for him and he can have a shot at playing one more game this year.
