Great insight from practice by Scott Mitchell.

After a couple days off to enjoy their big road win over the Toronto Argos, the Calgary Stampeders got back to work Wednesday morning at McMahon Stadium in preparation for a Labour Day Classic showdown with the 1-7 Edmonton Eskimos.

    — Stamps DC Rick Campbell was more than impressed with DE Charleston Hughes’ performance in Toronto. “He had as good a game as I’ve seen from a defensive guy in a while,” Campbell said. “He really is a difference maker. He draws attention and he can make big plays.”

    — After going through concussion protocol this week, QB Kevin Glenn threw the ball well Wednesday and will start Monday against the Esks (3 p.m., TSN, News Talk 770).
