    Like a well-paid offensive lineman, Calgary Stampeders GM/head coach John Hufnagel is playing the role of human shield.

    And he’s doing a pretty good job keeping the throng of Calgary media intent on delving into the Red & White quarterback situation at bay.

    A few questions into his post-practice scrum Tuesday afternoon, a reporter inquisitively asked if Drew Tate would start Friday against the B.C. Lions at McMahon Stadium (7 p.m., TSN, News Talk 770).
    Innocent? Sure.

    Jumping the gun? Maybe.

    But either way, Hufnagel wasn’t having it.

    “Have a good day,” the Stamps boss said, while exiting stage left.
