Can Calgary cinch first with a victory tonight, or will Saskatchewan slow the march?

After a slow first quarter (where the Stampeders only scored a rouge on a Maver punt), the Roughriders run Calgary's opening punt of the 2nd Q back for a 60 yard score, and after some good defensive play by the Stampeders, and a couple of sacks, it's now 7-1 for the bad guys...

    Stay tuned...

Calgary’s offence looking very average again so far

After a Saskatchewan drive of about 45 yards, it's the "Crappy-guy" with a 26 yard FG and a 10-1 'rider lead.

    Not lookin' good so far...

    Nice pick by Ciante Evans!

    Maybe a momentum changer...

    or maybe not.

BLM lucky not to have been picked himself...;)

In the pouring rain at McMahon, Maver's punt pins 'em at the Sask 5.

With 2 and a half minutes left in the 2nd Q, Calgary returns the punt to the S53, but 15 yards no yards penalty against the 'riders and a 15 yard UR brings the ball up 30 yards.

From the 'riders 27, they'll never have a better chance...

    Nope.

    Still can't do it.

Calgary will attempt a 26 yard FG of their own.

Paredes pushes it through and it's now 10-4, 'riders.

Brandon Smith with a second Calgary pick just after Evans nearly took another one.

Calgary ball at their own 50.

    Inside a minute to go...

Offence tonight not moving the ball, but Brescacin makes a 20 yard catch before BLM gives up his own pick deep to Carter.

Calgary's offence is putrid this evening.

    10-4 Saskatchewan at the half.

Has Dickenson got any halftime adjustments up his sleeve?

    We'll soon see...

    Second half about to begin.

After Terry Williams return and a holding penalty, Calgary begins the 2nd half from their 15 with another BLM incompletion on a pass to Jorden.

Bo throws the ball away on 2nd down.

No sign of any adjustments yet...;)

Saskatchewan marches the ball all the way down the field for 60 yards before the Stampeders continuously shoot themselves in the foot with penalties inside their own 20, and Saskatchewan ends up stalling on a Calgary sack for a loss of three.

    Stampeders' defence still playing well.

    As always.

Crappy-guy with 3 more for the 'riders on a 13 yard FG.

    13-4, Saskatchewan.

Embarrassing; probably a good thing for this team to get a wake up call or 2 before the end of the season

On first down, Jorden with a 13 yard pass, and, (what else is new?), a fumble recovered by the 'riders who bring it back to Calgary's 3.

What an absolutely shitty game from Calgary!

There've been a number of those recently between the Flames and these guys (despite their winning records on the season)!

Not a great time to be a follower of Calgary sports franchises.

The 'riders put it in the endzone from all of 1 yard out on 3rd down, and it's now 21-4 after a 2 point convert by Vernon Adams.

Penalties against Calgary result in a short kick attempt by the 'riders in Calgary territory.

    Yay!

    Calgary recovers.

Complete collapse by Sampeders' offence in this one.

BLM suffers a late hit, and forces him outta the game with a concussion protocol.

    Nullifies a Sask pick.

    Buckley now in.

On second down and long, 'riders blitz and crush Buckley.

    48 yard FG by Paredes.

21-7 Saskatchewan as the 3rd Q comes mercifully to an end.

Can we now hurry through the 4th and put this shameful, excrable effort by the Stampeders in the books already?

Mitchell with yet another pick to Carter, and this one's a 42 yard pick six!

Feel sorry for the fans sitting in the sleet and snow at McMahon watching this utter shitshow...

Good wake up call for the Stamps.
Well I thought last week would have been. Has this team peaked too early?
At this time of the year they should be getting better. I'm a little worried right now.

    There's certainly reason to be.

With this loss, the lustre's been taken off the Stampeders' regular season and the potential for a modern era record.

Now that they've been reduced to the ranks of mere mortals, the focus will from this point on have to be finding success and redemption in the playoffs.

    Where it should be, anyway.

Gutless move by Dickenson in giving up a safety with under 5 minutes to go.

The only strength his club has displayed all game was from their defence.

Way to endorse 'em with your apparent confidence in their fine play, DD...;)
