    This sucks, I like Totem.

It's just a no BS, no fluff renovation store that has awesome popcorn. Now it's going to be a crappier, more redneck version of the "Sears Home" stores with cheap Chinese outdoor furniture. :(

The big chains are swallowing up the little ones. When I was in Mt Shasta, California last week, my wife & I went for a walk down the main drag which can only be described as... "Main Street, America". Little town with no big box outlets. I went into an actual hardware store. Something I bet I haven't done in over 25 years as you just don't see them anymore. Cool just to walk down the aisles in a little store with two guys behind the counter knowing everything. Brought back my days as a kid growing up tagging along with my dad when he had a chore or job he wanted to do around the house.

It is (was) a home improvement / renovation / lumber store in AB.

But they didn't carry a lot of the decorating type stuff that HD, Lowes and Rona do; it's just a straight up tool / lumber / part store without all of the girly frills.

Totem is a good medium sized hardware/lumber store. I go to the one on Edmonton Tr all the time. I hope Rona keeps the popcorn machine there.

It's where I bought my Stamps hammer

(or maybe it was HomeDepot or Rona...mm, I can't remember now).
