Sinopoli giving it all he's got in unfamiliar territory
    from CFL.ca

It won’t be easy, but Brad Sinopoli is giving it all he’s got.

With the dream of playing in the CFL still burning bright in his heart, Sinopoli made a drastic career-changing move during the off-season, opting to try his hand at receiver rather than giving it another go under centre.

Risky? Yes. But almost against all odds, Sinopoli has been earning rave reviews from Stampeders’ receivers coach Pete Costanza.

“Brad has been, to no surprise, been doing real well at the receiver position this year. He knows the offence from the quarterback standpoint and just being able to apply that knowledge and learn to play receiver and the skill set that it takes to play,” he said.

“Brad’s been a pleasant surprise in training camp and I think you’re going to see more good things out of him.”

Sinopoli’s journey from QB to receiver is an interesting one. A former star in the CIS with the Ottawa Gee Gees, the Peterborough, ON native impressed Calgary’s brass enough to be selected in the fourth round (29th overall) in the 2011 draft.

    He's an intriguing experiment, alright.

If he can show well enough to stick (and he's already got both athleticism and a QB's smarts going for him), his throwing ability opens up the possibility of a few 'razzle-dazzle' plays during the season, and I'm sure that prospect has not been lost on the coaching staff, either. ;)
