Stampeders prepare to tackle 2013 season
    Scott Mitchell,

The sting of a Grey Cup loss doesn’t subside overnight.

But when Calgary Stampeders training camp opens Sunday, the disappointing 35-22 loss to the hometown Toronto Argonauts in the 100th instalment of three-down football’s biggest game will officially be a thing of the past.

No more talking about the last game, just the next one.

    Last season’s lunch-line-long injury list isn’t relevant.

The coaching defections after the 2011 season were followed up by every single Stamps coach staying put this past winter.

Drew Tate’s many maladies are long gone, but the long locks are still flowing.

There’s a new ownership group headed by the Calgary Flames empire, which has promised a more fan-friendly atmosphere and improvements to a behind-the-times McMahon Stadium.

Former president and COO Lyle Bauer is no more, replaced by a fresh face in Gord Norrie.

What more could fans ask for? OK, maybe a November trip to Regina, but let’s get through June, first.

Here are five Stampeders storylines to watch heading into training camp.
