Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the re-signing of international offensive lineman Edwin Harrison. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Harrison is a five-year veteran with the Stamps who has played 45 regular-season games and made starts at left tackle, right tackle, right guard and left guard.

“With his ability, experience and versatility, Edwin is a valuable member of the offensive line,” said Hufnagel. “He now finds himself with a chance to play an even larger role on the team and I look forward to seeing him take advantage of that opportunity.”

Harrison, a product of the University of Colorado, joined the Stampeders in 2010 after having spent time on the practice roster of the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs. He was the Stamps’ nominee for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie award in 2010.

“I just couldn’t see myself being anything but a Calgary Stampeder,” said Harrison. “With Juwan Simpson, Keon Raymond and Brandon Smith and all the other players who have been there since I came to Calgary more than five years ago, those are the guys who make the team what it is and I want to continue to be a part of that.”

Good news. One less o-lineman leaving. Hope Harrison can stay healthy this season.
