The Calgary Stampeders have added international offensive lineman Ruben Carter to the practice roster.

    Ruben Carter
    #56
    Offensive lineman
    College: Toledo
    Height: 6.04
    Weight: 312
    Born: Dec. 1, 1992
    International

Carter signed with the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in May and he attended training camp.

Carter played his senior college season at the University of Toledo in 2015. He started all 12 games at centre for the Rockets and was part of a unit that allowed just five sacks the entire season and helped the offence average 35 points and 460 yards per game. He transferred to Toledo from Florida State where he played 17 games for the Seminoles from 2012-14.

Stampeders loading up on O-linemen. Is this an indication that some of the veteran, or sophmore O-linmen are very close to reaching the very end to their successful "shelf life?" Federkeil? chronic shoulder problem. Lavertu? Lavoie, drafted two years ago, and has, for the most, "lived" on IR?

    Most interesting!

Any sports organization that isn't constantly evaluating its talent is a stagnating one.

If you believe you're as good as you're ever gonna be, you very soon won't be...;)

You may be absolutely correct about the shelf life of the players you've speculated about.

Or there may be others in the cross-hairs.

Either way, since the league permits vastly expanded practice rosters at this team of year, there's lots of room to assess players, if not for this year, then certainly as potential invitees to camp next May.

Very true! Along the same train of thought, the running back"cupboard," is very thin for quality, possible replacements for the "old," in football terms, running back Messam.
